- Latchford is central to hiking activities in the Temagami District and is considered an important link to the Temiskaming Trails Corridor. There are several old and new rails around Latchford. It is the Gateway to the exciting bold new Ottawa-Temiskaming Highland Trail, and 6000-year-old native Nastawgan Trails used by indigenous people for centuries.

- Edison mountain Trail, Coleman Trails, Kitt(Trout) Creek Cart Trail and Anima Nipissing Fire Tower Trail are popular Trails as well.
- Try following the Burns Traill from HW 11 via the WJB Greenwood Park heading towards the mouth of Gilchrist Creek. Ober the years, Burns Trail was used by miners, lumberjacks, campers, now made popular by hikers, snowmobilers, and hunters.
- Devils Rock is a major attraction as well.
